    - MS Access 2003 Queries Hi I have a product working fine under XP written in VB (access 2003 SP2). Most of the program works fine on Vista business but displaying graphs throws up errors. I think i may have narrowed it down to the SQL in the queries. I used the simple query wizard as a test, the SQL produced automatically caused an error message saying that the function is not available.     - AsyncUI for printer port monitor I have developed a printer port monitor which runs fine on Windows XP. However, on Vista there is a problem displaying the custom dialog box, due to the "session 0 isolation" introduced in Vista. In the Windows Driver Kit there is an example "asyncnotify" which illustrates how to display custom dialogs from a printer port monitor on Vista. In the example the client application is executed from the command line. How am I suppose to, silently, start the application automatically on boot I guess the client application can not be started as a service because then it would not be possible to display any dialog due to the "session 0 isolation".     - Microsoft.Ink windows messages, what decimal range I am trying to track down what I suspect is a windows message associated with Microsoft.Ink or a digitizer and wondered if anyone could help me determine whether or not this is the case. The message value I am capturing in WinProc is 49808 I am capturing it on a tablet when the pointer is moved over an area with an enabled InkOverlay. If I use AccessibleObjectFromPoint(), I can find a complete path from a pointed object to a desktop window. To do this, I use myObject->get_accParent(), then I enumerate children using IEnumVARIANT interface, to finally get a list of accessible objects and compare location of each object with my object location. If I found what I＊m looking for I have my object ID (when looking from the parent). After executing function FindPath() I receive something like this: (handle to DesktopWindow), 4, 19, 3, 1, 1, 3 Where the last ※3§ could be a menu item in notepad (lets say ※save as§). When I have got complete path, I would like to go from desktop to a menu item and clicked it. If on my way are only visible objects, everything is OK, but if at least one object has status set to ※invisible§, my algorithm crashes. The algorithm is the same during recording and replaying. It＊s the same as in MSAA0400 and it still doesn＊t work, where AccExplorer has no difficulties to display all objects in the path. I＊m working on it about two weeks now and I don＊t have any ideas why it doesn＊t work. I bet that there is a litle bug, misunderstanding or something I could mention that before clicking ※save as§ I clicked menu ※file§ etc. so all of needed objects are created before I try to get them.     - Problem with maximized MDI child window If you want Microsoft to know about it you have to report it through whatever channel into Microsoft you may have, partner program, MSDN, etc. My experience with Microsoft over the last 20 years has taught me that this is generally a waste of time. Microsoft tends to fix things like this only if it affects their own programs or some extremely high profile competitor (like with the Apple iTunes fiasco going on right now). Microsoft apps no longer use MDI so you would be hard pressed to find a Microsoft app affected by this bug. You are better off adjusting your software to work around the bug.     - Problems installing and using the Windows SDK. I'm currently trying to set up a "clean" build server using MSBuild and the latest Windows SDK (6.0 refresh). I installed the SDK on a "clean" server, opened up the registry to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETFramework\ and set the "sdkInstallRootv2.0" value to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\". When I go to compile any C++ projects on the build server using MSBuild, I receive the error MSB3428: Could not load the Visual C++ component "VCBuild.exe". It looks as though MSBuild is not recongizing any of the 6.0 SDK, even though I set it up the registry key correctly and followed the instructions in the SDK release notes. If I add "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0" to the system path, MSBuild reports errors finding the include files. I also tried adding those to the path as well as setting an environment variable for INCLUDE, but neither seem to help. If I run SetEnv.cmd, an error is shown about SetEnv not being able to call cmd.exe. It appears as though SetEnv.cmd has a bug where it is replacing my PATH and not appending to it. Also, I'd like to avoid using SetEnv since my MSBuild script will be compiling both my Debug and Release versions at the same time. SetEnv forces me to choose between debug and release at the start, which will not work in this case. I'd like to avoid mucking up my system environment (ie/ editing PATH, etc) if possible and just have MSBuild locate the files using it's normal methods - it just appears to be completely broken. The only way I've gotten anything to compile in the past is to bypass the SDK together - to give up and install Visual Studio 2005 and not use the newest libraries, headers, and tools. In VC++2005 when I add a variable to an Active X control the MFC add member variable wizard shows: Run Time Error has occurred. Line 1211 Error: Object Required. When I choose the debug option the best I can tell is that it gets to a statement that says: "Cannot Access ActiveX Control type Library" "Check to see if the .rc file is open in another editor" which it is not as far as I can tell.     - Disappearing Text in Windows Vista I had run into the same issue. The problem appears to be caused when the BackColor of the panel the text box is contained within is set to a Color value of "Transparent". I also saw an instance where the problem was occurring when the value of Color for the panel was not being set. The default value in this situation showed in the properties window as a color value of "Control". However, during run-time the panel behaved as though it was really defaulting to a value of "Transparent". In summary, it appears that if you explicitly set your containing panel to a BackColor to a value other than "Transparent" the problem should go away.     - Updating Window Regions Hi Sdi In this version , yes. The OnReceive function runs when data arrives and is intended to stimulate a WM_PAINT message. (although Update Window actually fails to produce any ON_PAINT messages) This should cause OnDraw to run, pick up the data from the network and draw the rectangle. Is there something wrong with this I have, however, moved on from there and put the Socket Receive function inside the OnReceive function so network data is saved when it arrives. Once again WM_PAINT is stimulated at this point to draw the rectangle. Unfortunately the result is the same. Use of Update Windows fails to produce any WM_PAINT messages and the system locks up.     - TC32: Inconsistent WER behavior When we inject AV into our C# app, we see that the app crashes as expected but we do not get two events in the event log as specified in the test case. We get the "Application Error" everytime.However we find that we do not get t he INFORMATION message with source as WER sometimes, but not everytime we inject AV to the app. We find the behavior is inconsistent. We have not done anything specific in the application for handling this. We just let the app crash and let the OS take care of WER. The "Problems & Solutions" is set to automatically send problem reports for all users. We are not sure what are we missing. Is there any way to adjust the location of footer/header when printing from Internet Explorer

When printing to an XPS driver, the footers/headers are always placed at the very edge of the paper and is unreadable, because that's where the printer margins are.
